it's great you landed here

Welcome. You probably needed a break--a place where you can consume a candy bowl of phantasmagoric nuggets to nourish the cerebral visceral cravings that reverberate beneath your surface like a subdermal transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator.

In this space, you are free. And wanted.

Dark Suburbia is a super-sponge for your boujee angst, distressing ruminations, and quiet desperation as you live out the American dream while drowning yourself in stemmed glass bowls of Pinot Noir, inhaling heated liquid from battery-operated pens, chased by sleepy gummy bears.

There is an extra bonus free gift benefit for tennis lovers in the Central Florida vicinity.

Here you will soon find ways to drop your phone and free that hand for more analog pleasures. There will also be artifacts and merch to consume, maybe, if there's enough time to set it up before we all turn to dust.

Things are steaming and brewing.

Join the club. You'll be so glad you didn't not take action.

ABOUT

who I am/who am I

I love people, cooking, cats, tennis, thinking about running, and words. I was rummaging around inside my head this morning and found some things that I'd like to share. So, I'm working on developing this space to share those things, along with some revenue-generating streams, if I get around to it.

Dark Suburbia has been burbling in my head for around 20 years. I think it's time. We all need a place to be weird and also discover that things are not always as they seem. I'm only 97% sure how to do that, so your ideas are welcome.

As a connected aside, I am also interested in developing a tennis thing. Like a club, but not. It would be comprised of people who like to play, as well as think about tennis. I'm theoretically writing a book about tennis as well.

The Accidental Drop Shot views existence through the lens of a tennis match. Each chapter identifies one tennis shot as analogy for a universal human condition, illustrating the psychophysics of the game and its parallel to off-court living. For example, chapter 9 is about Match Point, the price of winning and losing, the religious experience of playing, metaphysics, and transcendentalism.

So be sure to contact me if you would like to be involved in tennis within 30 miles of Latitude: 29° 14′ 19.9896″ N, Longitude: 81° 1′ 31.5624″ W.

Also, I am currently an associate professor of communication at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Thanks for reading this far.
